This June, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. kicked off its 10-week summer internship program, welcoming a fresh group of students who will make valuable contributions across the business as they enhance their professional skills and gain a better understanding of their fields of interest.
We chatted with a few of our interns to get to know more about them, their summer gig, and their favorite music! Meet Genevieve, Johnny, Zoila, Piaras, Khushi, and James:
Genevieve, Legal Intern, Jericho, N.Y.
The scoop on Genevieve: I am a student at New York Law School, and I will be starting my 3rd (and final!) year this fall.
Her role: I will be working with the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. Legal Department in matters relating to intellectual property, advertising law, labor law, compliance, and privacy.
Her favorite 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. brand and why: 1-800-Flowers.com – I love having fresh flowers in my apartment, and the beautiful arrangements are a perfect gift.

Johnny, Growth Marketing Intern, Jericho, N.Y.
The scoop on Johnny: I’m a senior at SUNY Old Westbury, majoring in Marketing and am currently enrolled in my last course.
His role: This summer, I’ll be interning on the Growth Marketing team. My role will focus on working alongside the team to grow both our Subscription program and our Marketplace program. I'll also have the opportunity to work on our International business and other growth initiatives.
His favorite 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. brand and why: 1-800-Flowers.com is my favorite brand. The joy that my mother expressed when she received her Mother’s Day bouquet was incredible.

Zoila, Strategy and Business Development Intern, Jericho, N.Y.
The scoop on Zoila: I am from El Salvador and moved to New York in 2016. I am a senior majoring in Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications with a minor in Graphic Design at Pace University.
Her role: This summer, I joined the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. family as a Strategic Partnerships Intern where I will be helping with the analysis of portfolios for possible collaborations and deals. I will also assist with Marketing Technology and the Enterprise Strategic Initiatives.
Her favorite 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. brand and why? Wolferman’s Bakery because of its variety of English muffins, pastries, scones, coffee cakes, and other breakfast treats.

The scoop on Piaras: I am going into my junior year at Marist as a Marketing Major.
His role: I’m excited to learn more about the merchandising and operations sector, and the processes here at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc.

The scoop on Khushi: I'm a Computer Science major at George Washington University.
Her role: I'll be working on enhancing accessibility features on specific brand websites and ensuring it's user-friendly to all users. With the guidance of my manager, I'll implement necessary changes to enhance its accessibility features.

James, Fruit Operations Intern, Jericho, N.Y.
The scoop on James: I am going into my senior year at Marist College, where I study Finance and Marketing and have a minor in Economics.
His role: I will be supporting the team as they manage the network of Shari’s Berries and Fruit Bouquets partners.
Favorite 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. brand and why: Shari’s Berries, not only because that is the team that I am working on, but to me, there are very few things that beat a nice and cold chocolate covered strawberry on a hot summer day.
