Prior to joining the company, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Famous Brands International, the parent company of the iconic Mrs. Fields and TCBY brands, where he led the company's strategic transformation, modernized its technology platforms, accelerated omnichannel growth, and oversaw the successful sale of its franchising business. He later served as Chief Executive Officer of Mrs. Fields Gifting & Licensing.
Previously, Nelson served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Things Remembered, where he successfully guided the sale of the business to Enesco. Following the acquisition, he led the company's omnichannel transformation, including the retail and digital modernization of the customer experience. Earlier, he served as Chief Merchandising & Store Sales Officer, leading merchandising, planning, sourcing, product development, and store operations.
Prior to Things Remembered, Nelson was Chief Merchandising Officer at Schurman Retail Group, where he led merchandising, product development, marketing, sourcing, planning, and e-commerce across multiple retail brands, including PAPYRUS, Carlton Cards, and Clintons. Earlier in his career, he held senior merchandising leadership positions at American Greetings, Barnes & Noble College Bookstores, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
